Getting started

3DLiftLens surveys a lift shaft in three dimensions and gives you its measurements without a tape, without scaffolding and without a second visit.

The two halves

The phone app (iPhone or iPad) does the scanning on site. The technician scans the shaft and it uploads to the company account by itself. This web application opens that scan on an office computer, where you view the model, take measurements, produce the report and the drawing, share it, and request quotes.

• One visit to the building instead of two or three
• Pit depth, headroom, travel, clear shaft dimensions and the number of stops are worked out from the scan automatically
• Measure again at any time, from the office, without going back
• Everything you measure comes out as a PDF report, a DXF drawing for CAD and a spreadsheet
• Scans belong to the company, not to the individual — if a colleague is away, the next person carries on

What you need

A computer with internet

Windows or Mac. It works on a tablet, but a computer screen is far more comfortable for measuring.

A recent browser

Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari. The 3D model needs a graphics card; on very old machines rotation can be slow.

An account

Your own email and password. If your company already has an account, ask your administrator to invite you rather than signing up again.

A mouse

A mouse with a wheel is recommended. Everything works on a trackpad, but rotating the model is harder.

Pop-ups allowed

The PDF report opens in a new tab. If your browser blocks pop-ups for the application's address, the report will not appear.

The application is at app.3dliftlens.com. It is worth bookmarking.

Creating an account

If you are the first from your company:

1. Open app.3dliftlens.com.
2. On the sign-in screen press Sign up, next to “No account yet?”.
3. Fill in Name and last name, Your company's name, E-mail and Password (at least 6 characters).
4. Press Sign up.

You can also sign in with a Google or Apple account, from the buttons under “Or connect using”.

Registering the company

3DLiftLens is sold to businesses only. Scans, projects and reports belong to the company and not to a personal account. The first time, you will be asked for:

Registered company name

The official name, as it appears on your invoices.

Country

Country where the company is registered.

VAT / tax number

For EU countries this is checked automatically against the official registry (VIES).

Business address, City, Postal code

The registered address of the business.

Tax office

Where applicable in your country.

Billing email

Where invoices will be sent.

Phone

A contact number.

Finally tick the business-use declaration (“I confirm I am buying on behalf of a business…”) and press Create company.

Signing in day to day

1. Open app.3dliftlens.com.
2. Enter your E-mail and Password.
3. On your own computer, tick Remember me so it does not ask every time.
4. Press Sign in.

If you have forgotten your password, press Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter your email. Check your spam folder for the link.
