Exports, sharing and quotes
Three ways the work leaves the application: as a file, as a link, or as a quote request.
Exports
The Export button in the toolbar takes your work out of the application, in the unit you have selected.
- PDF report
- A one-page technical report: figures, drawing and checks together. This is what you send to the customer or the designer. It opens in a new browser tab, and you save or print it from there.
- DXF drawing
- Plan and section as a DXF. Opens in AutoCAD and in any CAD program.
- Spreadsheet
- A CSV with every measurement as a table. Opens in Excel and in Google Sheets.
- 3D model
- The scan itself as a GLB file, for viewing in another program.
A second export button gives the model in engineering formats: STL for 3D printing, OBJ as a ZIP with textures, GLB as a single textured file, and STEP and IGES as solids for CAD.
Sharing a scan
Share lets someone outside the company — a customer, an engineer, a partner — see the scan without needing an account.
- Press Share on the scan.
- Either copy the link (Copy and share link) and send it yourself, or type the recipient's address in “or send via email” and send.
The recipient opens the link in their browser and sees the model as a guest (Guest profile). They can rotate it and look at it, but they have no access to the rest of your company's files.
Requesting a quote
From the same screen where you measure the shaft you can ask for a quote for the lift — with no phone calls and without retyping the figures into an email. The Ask for a quote button is in the viewer's toolbar. There are three steps.
Step 1 — where the building is
Project name and Country / area are required. In large countries you choose a region, so that the suppliers found are ones who actually serve your area. City, Postal code and Street address are also asked for. The exact address is not published: it is shown only to a supplier who unlocks the project.
Step 2 — choosing suppliers
The application shows you the approved suppliers who cover your area, with their speciality. Tick the ones you want. You can add a short message. The Continue button shows how many you have selected. If there is no supplier for your area yet you will see “No approved supplier covers this area yet. Nothing has been sent.”
Step 3 — check before sending
The Before you send screen shows exactly what is leaving: stops, travel, pit depth, headroom, shaft width and depth. Read them, then tick “I understand, and I am authorised to share this project outside my company” and press Send request.
What the supplier sees
Before they unlock it
Shaft dimensions, the number of stops, one photograph and the country. Not the address and not your details.
After they unlock it
A permanent copy of the 3D model and the measurements, plus your contact details, so that they can send you a quote.
What happens next
The suppliers you selected are notified by email. Whoever is interested unlocks the project and contacts you. You get an email every time someone unlocks your project. If you ask for quotes on the same project again, anyone who already received it is marked “already sent”.
